Civil Engineering Faculty Member

The Department of Engineering is seeking a full-time faculty position in the Engineering Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This full-time engineering faculty position may begin as early as August 2018. Responsibilities consist of teaching core engineering and civil engineering concentration courses. All faculty participate in University service that may include advising and mentoring students, supervising senior design projects, assisting with internships and coops, student organization advising, recruiting for the major, and serving on University committees. Scholarly research, consulting, grant writing, engineering mission projects, and presentation at technical conferences are encouraged. Salary and Rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits are competitive.

EDUCATION
A MS degree in Engineering with a specialty in civil engineering is required. PE licensure and/or an earned Ph.D. in engineering is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
A passion for teaching and support of Olivet’s mission are essential. The candidate should be able to articulate the integration of the Christian faith and engineering practice.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Located on the main campus of Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois.  Salary and Rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits are competitive.

Olivet offers the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree with concentrations in Architectural, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. The Engineering Program is part of the Martin D. Walker School of Engineering, and is located in a new facility that includes the Ken Johnson Technology Center. The Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET accredits the Engineering Program.
