A postdoctoral research associate position is available for an NSF-funded project in the Division of Biology at Kansas State University. The successful applicant will investigate the role of lipids in plant development by applying various approaches including protein-metabolite immunoisolation using the Arabidopsis model system. This project will involve interaction with the Kansas Lipidomics Research Center in Biology. Kansas State University houses several interdisciplinary academic programs relevant to the project, such as the Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics Graduate Group, the Molecular and Cellular Developmental Biology Program, the Genetics Interdepartmental Program, and the Ecology, Evolution and Genomics Program. The focus will be on metabolite signaling pathways that act via steroidogenic acute regulatory protein-related lipid/sterol transfer (START) domains in homeodomain transcription factors. Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, computational biology or related field.
