Reporting to our corporate office in north-central Phoenix, this individual reviews and approves master water/wastewater plans and basis of design reports for new developments. Experience with reviewing and approving civil/mechanical engineering plans for water/wastewater infrastructure is a plus. Knowledge of water modeling software and an understanding of modeling output reports are a plus. This individual will interact with operations staff to gain a solid understanding of how various water/wastewater systems function. The successful candidate’s knowledge and experience will play a significant role in determining infrastructure improvements necessary to provide water/wastewater services to proposed residential and commercial developments, as well as in establishing and improving Company engineering design standards and specifications. Other common duties include drafting, reviewing and/or administering development agreements, tariffs, and administrative rules and regulations; drafting letters and creating submittal packages to regulatory agencies; and providing courteous and expeditious customer service to the general public and company staff. This individual will be comfortable in working with legal professionals (negotiating and drafting agreements), regulators, land developers, homebuilders, customers, and other engineers.
The successful candidate may manage the delivery of developer-funded water/wastewater projects through all aspects of engineering design, permitting, procurement, construction and commissioning. This task may include managing engineering consultant and construction contracts, along with providing direction as necessary to maintain project budgets and scheduled delivery dates; interacting with regulatory agencies and managing projects to obtain permits, certifications and approvals for projects; guiding and serving as engineering technical advisor to operations staff.
