In recognition of Gilbert’s growth and the need to oversee both new and aging infrastructure and related lines of service, the Town has created the position of Assistant Public Works Director, which will report directly to the Public Works Director. Specifically, the Assistant Public Works Director responsibilities may include actively participating in organizational, departmental and workgroup goals and objectives. Additionally, responsibilities include but not limited to supervising staff, staff training to ensure policies and procedures are followed, managing activities and programs within the department, serving as a liaison within Town departments, external organizations, elected policymakers, officials and serving as a representative at various meetings and events.
