Minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field and five to seven years of related experience in civil engineering, public works and management required. Master’s degree preferred.
Must possess a valid State of Michigan Driver's License and be a Registered State of Michigan Professional Engineer.
Ability to design and develop engineering plans according to capital improvement project requirements (street construction, traffic controls, industrial and commercial development, water and sewer, retention basins, environmental, etc.).
Ability to coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Ability to coordinate and manage activities necessary to ensure that emergency and daily operations of the water and sewer utility will not adversely affect the health, safety and welfare of community citizens.
Ability to act as liaison for the City with consultants, governmental agencies and community groups as required by the City Manager.
Ability to assist in the preparation and development of the Capital Improvement Program on an annual basis.
