Position: SENIOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER
(Traffic Signal Timing Engineer)
Salary: $79,470 - $130,239 Annually, negotiable depending on qualifications
Department: Engineering and Public Works/Traffic Engineering
Location: 2300 North Vista Parkway, WPB
Hours: 40 Variable hours/week, Monday - Friday
Other: Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
Manages signal and system timing plans development and implementation activities; supervises engineering and technical staff; assists the System Manager with the development of scope, design, and construction activities for special projects and implementation of goals and objectives of the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) section. Conducts field inspections, performs consultant coordination and responds to requests from citizens and public officials.

Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida or Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering or closely related field; minimum of five (5) years of experience in professional traffic engineering including one (1) year of experience in the supervisory aspects of the work. Equivalency: Master's Degree in Civil/Traffic/Transportation Engineering and four (4) years of related experience including one (1) year of experience in the supervisory aspects of the work.
Necessary Special Requirement: Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain licensure by endorsement within 12 months of hire.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH: Traffic signal timing development and implementation or Traffic Signal Analysis Packages (e.g., Synchro, HCS); Traffic Signal Systems, National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Traffic Signal Controllers, ITS Traffic Management Center Operations, Adaptive Traffic Control Systems, ITS Systems design and Project Management.
