Under the general direction of the assigned Deputy Director, manages projects and tasks of the Planning, Design and Construction Division to ensure that the goals and objectives of assigned projects are met. Performs detailed project management duties of assigned design/construction tasks or projects. Project assignments may include: airfield, airport facilities, landside and, Geographic Information System (GIS) projects. Projects may be at Detroit Metro or Willow Run Airports operation.
To perform this job successfully, at the time of application, applicants must meet or exceed the following:
Have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field, AND
Have a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience with progressive responsibilities in the engineering, construction administration, and management of consultants and/or contractors. Experience should include airfield pavement design and construction, roadway and parking lot construction, and pavement repair assessment and restoration.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES
A valid driver's license and a safe, acceptable driving record.
A Professional Engineer or Civil Engineering license is preferred.
If current licenses were issued in another state, Michigan license must be obtained within six (6) months from date of hire.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate adaptability for understanding project management software.
