POSITION SUMMARY: Grain Processing Corporation (GPC) in Muscatine, Iowa is looking for a Technical Sales Representative. This position is responsible for the marketing and sales of GPC products assigned to the paper and packaging Industrial Sales group. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Marketing and sale of products assigned to the paper and packaging group • Report on customer activities including new applications, industry developments, and market trends • Report all competitive activity, such a pricing, new products, policy, or quality • Maintains up-to-date sales records in SalesLogix • Conducts market surveys and other special assignments • Initiates and maintains personal, phone and written contracts with customer and makes the sale • Cultivates accounts by maintaining close business relationships with Procurement, Product Development, Production, Research, Marketing, and other partners who influence purchasing decisions • Plans territorial coverage and sales calls to maximize efficient use of time • Develops and maintains contracts necessary to general customer and competitive intelligence • Identifies key accounts, both current and potential, in territory and develops strategy to maintain and build business at these accounts • Maintains memberships and participates in trade association activities • Develop and maintain a high degree of product and market knowledge CORE COMPETENCIES: Action Oriented, Business Acumen, Customer Focus, Timely Decision Making, Integrity and Trust, Problem Solving, Strategic Agility.
