Performs traffic engineering studies, analyzes technical data, and makes technical reports and recommendations on courses of action to the City Engineer to provide improvements and resolutions to City traffic engineering problems. Performs engineering design work on roadways, pavement markings, and on traffic sign and signal installations. Writes, interprets and formulates traffic signal timing plans and progression models. Also performs computerized drafting assignments relating to Traffic Engineering assignments.

Associate of Science Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience. Course work in advanced math through calculus is desirable.
Minimum two years’ experience performing traffic studies; analyzing and making recommendations.
Good communication skills with ability to deal sensitively and tactfully with the public.
Must possess initiative and be a self-starter.
Proficient in Auto-CAD/Civil 3D and MicroSoft Office. Proficiency in TRAXPro Traffic Data Analysis Software, Roadsoft, and Field Manager preferred.
