Stormwater Engineering - Design, Construction & Management
Stormwater Project Manager / Full-time
The City of Chesapeake Public Works Department, Stormwater Engineering Division is currently accepting applications for a full-time Stormwater Project Manager position.
Develops designs for various types of flood control and water quality improvement projects with city stormwater engineering staff or engineering consultants. Provides administrative control such as budgetary and scheduling, and quality control/quality assurance for all types and complexities of stormwater studies and projects. Typical tasks include, but are not limited to:
Overseeing the City's Master Drainage Plan, complex hydrology and hydraulic modeling and analysis of watershed areas, development and execution of watershed implementation plans in the areas of stormwater quality/TMDL requirements and flood control to ensure adequate citywide stormwater system.
Administering contracts to ensure compliance with specifications and all applicable standards, schedules, and conducts stormwater training in areas related to stormwater engineering issues. Handles all project correspondence and coordinates activities with internal and external agencies.
Working with contractors, consultant engineers and/or staff engineers, providing constructability, measurement and payment reviews of project progress submittals.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. This position requires a minimum of six years of related, full-time equivalent experience; 10 years of experience preferred to include 1-2 years at a Project Manager level.
Requires a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and a valid driver's license and driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards.
Additional Salary Information: Base Salary only; does not include fringes. Commensurate with Experience

Provides design, review, inspection, and approval of construction plans for transportation, bridges, stormwater, and VDOT grant projects. Provides engineering consulting to various city departments in-house or by contract.
