Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized, award-winning professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth, and we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time plumbing project engineer. Responsibilities include designing plumbing distribution systems: storm, sanitary, domestic water, compressed air systems associated with buildings; preparing plans and specifications for bidding and construction; preparing and performing quality checks of documents; mentoring less experienced staff; and conducting periodic construction site inspections. Travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have all of the following:
a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mechanical, civil, environmental or architectural engineering (with a mechanical emphasis)
at least eight years of relevant plumbing design experience
a PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in other states
The ideal candidate will have experience in any/all of the following: designing plumbing and fire protection systems for food processing facilities or other similar industrial/pharmaceutical facilities; developing performance criteria for fire protection systems; designing compressed air and natural gas systems; designing liquid fuel dispensing systems, designing water treatment systems; directing technicians in the preparation of drawings in Revit and/or AutoCAD; knowledge of codes, statutes, and laws related to building plumbing and fire protection design and construction.
