ENGINEER (TRAFFIC)

JOB DUTIES:  

• Design PS & E development and coordination.  Design, prepare and coordinate the development of complete plans, specifications and cost estimates for traffic engineering projects.
• Prepare design reports and contract documents.  Prepare required design reports and contract bidding documents for traffic engineering projects.
• Conduct traffic safety and engineering evaluations/investigations.  Conduct traffic safety and engineering evaluations with recommendations through technical studies and investigations in response to complaints and requests from citizens, County Board members and other public and private agencies.
• Maintain the traffic signals along the CTH system.  Assist in maintaining the traffic signals for our County Trunk Highways (CTH’s),  including  traffic signal timing , coordination, upgrades, damage control, and compliance.
• Planning/design of traffic related components of road/bridge projects.  Plan and design traffic related components (i.e.traffic signals, signing and pavement marking,temporary  traffic control and staging) of roadway and bridge/structure projects.
• Agency/municipal involvement in projects that impact our CTH's.  Involvement with other agency/municipal freeway, roadway and bridge studies/projects related to traffic that impacts CTH's/Milwaukee County facilities, including attending meetings, coordination,  review of plans and contract documents and obtaining mitigation agreements.
