Our Capital Projects Group, Union Station Rail Corridor (USRC) Office is seeking a Manager, Corridor Infrastructure (Systems Engineer) to manage and support technical services (Project Delivery team) and provide sound development and strong oversight of the systems engineering integration and assurance functions for the USRC program of works, including requirements management of systems, lifecycle of projects, verification and validation of design and construction; commissioning and hand-over of construction works and systems assurance. This position will also support the delivery of Capital Railway Infrastructure projects including facilities, track, structures and signals which encompasses the planning, design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases in accordance with approved timelines, budget and project deliverables. What will I be doing? - Manage engineering assurance of capital corridor infrastructure projects through all stages of scope definition, design and construction; coordinates engineering responsibilities, identifies deficiencies and opportunities, and recommends solutions.
- Integrate multiple corporate requirements into projects, including technical design, environmental assessment conditions, community and municipal commitments, Passenger Charter, design excellence, and property acquisition conditions; analyzing potential conflicts, delays or issues resulting from integration of corporate requirements with overall project plan.
- Consult and collaborate with the applicable Centre(s) of Excellence and other Metrolinx stakeholders to determine and incorporate requirements and obtain sign-off at agreed-upon intervals to ensure projects across the system are developed, implemented and integrated consistently, efficiently, safely, and in a coordinated manner.
- Oversee consultants and contractors in the delivery of scope of work, as defined in respective contracts, ensuring that corrective action and escalation is initiated when necessary.
- Manage project scope/requirements changes; Leads project commissioning and closeout activities with contractors to verify alignment with contract terms and conditions as well as corporate quality requirements; prepares comprehensive closeout reports.
- Works closely with Operations teams to commission and transition infrastructure work, ensuring all acceptance criteria (e.g. final design, installation, testing) are fulfilled and required documentation (e.g. as-built drawings, technical specifications) is delivered prior to final signature for acceptance and transfer.
