| The City of De Pere is seeking an Engineering Technician to become an integral part of our team. The Engineering Technician performs engineering work associated with drafting, surveying, design and construction inspection, and maintenance of public works projects and other activities. The City of De Pere may hire at either the Engineering Technician or Engineering Senior Technician level, depending on experience and qualifications. Qualifications: Engineering Technician - Associate Degree in Civil Technology, or equivalent, from an accredited education institution.
- Practical work experience as an intern or permanent employment as a Civil Engineering Technician.
- Valid unencumbered Wisconsin driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Practical work experience in construction operations and inspection.
Engineering Senior Technician - Associate Degree in Civil Technology, or equivalent, from an accredited educational institution.
- Minimum of four years of experience as a Civil Engineering Technician.
- Experience with GIS and CAD systems are desirable.
- Practical work experience in construction operations and inspection.
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and good driving record.
A combination of education and experience may be considered. Salary: Depending on qualifications, plus an excellent benefits package. Engineering Technician $22.90 - $26.17 per hour Engineering Senior Technician $27.03 - $30.89 per hour Typical Work Schedule: The normal work schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. plus additional hours as required to complete assignments. Hours from Memorial Day through Labor Day may be adjusted to the Municipal Service Center's summer schedule or to meet contractor’s needs. Technicians are required to work additional hours during the construction season. This varies depending on contractor schedules but weekly averages of 45 to 50 plus hours do occur.
