SUMMARY OF POSITION ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Departments of Data Science & Business Analytics (DSBA), and Computer Science (CS) at Florida Polytechnic University invite applications for multiple open rank positions in Business Analytics, Data Science, and Computer Science with the starting date of August 2024. We are looking for candidates with proven research and teaching experience in the following areas:
Business Analytics: Logistics Analytics and Supply Chain Management, preferably a secondary focus in Marketing Analytics and broad teaching capacity in General Business courses.
Data Science: Data Engineering and Big Data Analytics.
Computer Science: Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Game Development and Simulation.
The DSBA Department is home to two very distinct undergraduate degree programs (BS-Data Science and BS-Business Analytics), and two graduate degree programs (MS in Engineering Management, and MS in Data Science). There are four undergraduate concentrations: Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Quantitative Economics & Econometrics, Big Data Analytics, and Advanced Topics.
The CS department is home to the largest undergraduate program in the University which delivers an ABET accredited degree in Computer Science with specialization areas in Game Development, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence. The CS Department also offers an MS degree in CS.
Applicants must demonstrate commitment to teaching and teaching excellence in support of the departments’ degree programs. In addition, individuals must be prepared to establish a personal research presence based upon participation in extramural funding efforts, publication of research results in leading scientific journals of their discipline, and supervision of graduate and undergraduate students. Candidates are expected to assist in the broader educational mission of the department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
Data Science or Computer Science: Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computational Science, Data Engineering, or other closely related fields.
Business Analytics: Ph.D. or DBA in Business Analytics, Operations Management, Quantitative Marketing, from AACSB accredited business programs, or other closely related fields.
B.Sc. in a STEM field
For Associate Professor (in addition to the above list):
Experience in curriculum delivery and development.
Experience as the instructor of record.
Experience with students’ academic mentoring.
Participation as a student or faculty in a US higher education institution.
Demonstrated ability to conduct independent and interdisciplinary funded applied research.
Experience as contributing author or sole author on research proposals.
Active participation in professional activities and organizations.
Prior professional US experience with progressive increases in responsibility.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse campus community.
For Associate Professor (in addition to the above list):
Curriculum development and significant teaching experience at all collegiate levels as the instructor of record.
Funded research experience as a Principal Investigator.
Demonstrated ability to identify project opportunities and independently develop proposals that are subsequently funded.

EXPECTED STARTING SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
