								<description>Springfield, Missouri,  Due to recent promotions, the City of Springfield, Missouri&#39;s Department of Public Works is seeking qualified applicants for three separate Professional Engineers ( with option to underfill as Engineer III, Engineer II, and Engineer I ) in the&#xa0; Traffic Engineering &#xa0;Division, the&#xa0; Transportation Engineering &#xa0;Divison, and the&#xa0; Transportation Management &#xa0;Division. Traffic Engineering Division Responsibilities for the Traffic Engineering position will include developing and analyzing planning studies such as traffic impact studies, traffic volume and speed studies, safety studies and crash data analysis, parking studies; designing and managing projects for traffic calming, sidewalks, and intersection improvements; and reviewing development plans for code compliance and access management.&#xa0;For more information about our Traffic Engineering Division, visit our&#xa0; website. 
 Transportation Management Division Responsibilities for the Transportation Management position will include designing and managing signalized intersection improvement projects, developing and deploying intelligent transportation systems using a systems engineering approach, and creating and reviewing traffic control plans for construction projects and special events. Transportation Engineering Division The Transportation Engineering Division of Public Works manages the design and construction of public improvements in the City of Springfield including streets, intersections, streetscapes, and bridges. The division is also responsible for right-of-way acquisitions for public uses and surveying public property.  &#xa0; Experience, Education, and Training Professional Engineer 
 
 
 Bachelor&#39;s Degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering discipline; 
 
 AND 
 
 Four years of experience in engineering work.&#xa0; 
 Engineering experience must be commensurate with assigned specialty area required for current vacancy. 
 
 Engineer III (Underfill option):&#xa0; 
 
 Bachelor&#39;s Degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering discipline ;&#xa0; 
 
 AND 
 
 Three years progressively responsible engineering experience; 
 Must possess an Engineering Intern (EI) certificate from a State Board of registration for Professional Engineers within probationary period; 
 Master&#39;s Degree in Engineering may be substituted for the EI certification. 
 
&#xa0; Engineer II (Underfill Option): 
 
 Bachelor&#39;s Degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering discipline ;&#xa0; 
 
 AND 
 
 Two years progressively responsible engineering experience; 
 Master&#39;s Degree in Engineering may be substituted for one year of the required work experience. 
 
 Engineer I (Underfill Option): 
 
 Bachelor&#39;s Degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering discipline ;&#xa0; 
 
 
 Licensing/Certification 
 
 
 Must possess a Professional Engineer&#39;s license for Professional Engineer; 
 Must possess MO license as issued by the Missouri State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers within six months of employment.</description>
